I am posting this here, as opposed to You Outta Be In Pictures, because there are no magic tricks in this video; however, I am sure many of the animal lovers at the Café will enjoy seeing this.
It stars my cockatoo, Zoey the Wonderbird, who is a fully trained free-flighted cockatoo. It took a year to train her to free flight, and she simply loves going out. She is only caged if I am not home. I wish all birds could enjoy that much freedom. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgHGJUVygAU -JoeJoe

Thanks for your kind words, Magiciko ... Zoey and I are both glad you enjoyed it.
This is our first video to get six 5-star ratings, and the YouTube "insight" reports that it is getting quiet a few hits from people's email boxes ... I have high hopes for this one! -JoeJoe

It's amazing how one animal will take on the traits/behaviors of another. Has Zoey been around the 'keets awhile, or is that something she already did with the food, etc.?

I had the parakeets when I acquired Zoey ... she has been around them for roughly two years now. There is a little jealously between Magnolia and Zoey. The first night, Maggie was 'dive bombing' Zoey as she sat on my shoulder ... a few months later, Maggie was preening Zoey's tail feathers for her. I would love to capture that on film, but Zoey doesn't like her doing that and chases her off.
As for the parakeet seeds, Zoey likes to eat them, but I discourage the habit as I am not positive they are suitable food for her. Mainly because she eats the entire seed, including the outer shell which might be a problem for her digestive system. Thus, she was only eating them for the video - she is normally not allowed to eat them, although I do catch her sneaking into their food bowl every once and while. Thanks again for watching, everyone - we're up to nine 5-star ratings now! Zoey is having a ball watching herself, and she has really enjoyed this entire process. -JoeJoe

In fact, when I took her to Banfield for her shots, there was a long line and wait ... she sat on my shoulder for over an hour - nobody could believe it. All the other animals trying to run around and chase each other, and she just sat there like she was a bird. It was cute. lol Thanks again for watching, everyone. Up to 10 5-star ratings. Zoey couldn't be happier. -JoeJoe

JoeJoe,
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but that would be something to see!

I'm very serious, Michael ... she sits on my shoulder like she's a bird.

She is a "Bare Eyed Cockatoo", no feathers around her eyes. I had never seen one before and, initially, thought something was wrong with her. I first saw her in a pet store. While most of the birds were in the front of the store, she was hidden in the back ... and because her cage was on the ground, nobody could even see her. Her owner didn't want her and returned her to the pet store. She was literally begging me for attention.
We instantly feel in love. -JoeJoe

Zoey is a perfect example of a strong bond between parrot and owner. This bird likes to be with the owner always. Keep up the good job JoeJoe!

Yes well ... a few days ago Zoey laid an egg, and now all she wants to do is sit on her egg ... and I'm lonely.
