Can you find a word with 5 consecutive vowels?
Can you find a word in English and a word in French that mean the same, have the same number of letters and have only vowels?

I know the first word (not uncommon), but I'm not at all familiar with French, unless it's commonly used in English as well.

There's also an uncommon word, "aeaeae", which has six consecutive vowels. It means "magic" and is derived from the Greek mythology, the name of the island on which the sorceror Circe lived. Even though you probably meant the other, more common word, this one is more appropriate to this forum.

Very Good!
The french word is extremely common. (Very big clue)

Edit: I made a mistake, mixed up the two questions. Disregard this post.

Obviously Nir is thinking of the same word as I am. But I don't have the "French" one yet, so for me the puzzle isn't solved.

Correct!
We'll let the others figure out what you mean.
I should point out that for the purpose of this puzzle, y is a vowel.

Oui, or should I say, yea?

Aha. I wasn't thinking of "Y" as a vowel.

This puzzle reminds me of the island "Krk" in Croatia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krk

no way in the world you are going to find a vowel there - not a single one in the entire island...
sometimes it is just fun pronouncing its name 5 times in a row - try it!

There is also another word in English (somewhat colloquial) that means yes and has only vowels (and y).
