Dear fellows,

Need your advice. I know the standard hiding space for girl is 8 inch,
but I will build base for duck. Is there someone who can help me on how much is the standard thickness of the base for normal grown duck?
Thank you very much.

Paul Osborne's plans have many duck illusions. I used ducks for years, and it all depends on the duck. Just sit the duck down, lay a book or so over the duck, just press gently, and measure the height from the table to magazine. Some of the old Thayer plans also had duck illusions. "Where Do the Ducks Go?" being the best. Okito used lots of ducks, and you will find all the info you need in his great books. Rai

Depends on type of duck; call, Peking, etc.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Yeah, it is a Peking duck.
I will search Osborne books. I have some; hope I can find.

Osborne has plans for "Mysteries of the DUCK" Number 1 and 2, and he is planning to put more out. So check out his plans, not so much the books. Rai

CC, I can fit a standard sized Peking duck in my 3 inch thick duck pan. The best way to determine the size is to place your duck on a table and use another piece of wood to "flatten" it down. If possible, I would use a stretch fabric for the base bottom.

Yeah, will use spandex for the bottom of base.
