You mean like Disney child-star washouts Britney Spears and Cristina Aguilaraa?
Posted: Mar 24, 2009 4:55pm One more thought regarding kid stars: My daughter would like to be a Disney kid star, she told my mom, her grandma, Miley Cyrus made 10 million doing a movie in just six weeks. Grandma said six weeks? You should think about a steady career, six weeks? What happens if nothing else comes in? Posted: Mar 24, 2009 4:56pm But Randi is right, those kid shows are horrible. |

It's not just you. Perhaps magicians should put these away for now and let them be re-discovered by the next generation.

Honestly, how many of you guys would hire her with your OWN money to put on a stage show? Right. D.L.

By the next generation - I meant put these tricks, along with zombie, snowstorm, and so on, away for at least ten years so that the next generation - not kids or adults performing now - but for those who aren't into magic yet - to have some gems to re-discover and find something new instead of continuing to beat these tricks to a pulp so they become worthless cliches.

I thought the shorts made her look puffy...
The subtrunk needs to be removed from the show! Also how many people use those, man the name escapes me, the hand tossed streamers that so many are using (McBride is allowed to use 'em). |

LOL, I looooove it!!! first off, everybody sucks at one point in their career. If you are so concerned about Krystin please contact her and offer her your advice. Please post some of your videos, I'd love to see them. Krysten is doing the best she can and still discovering herself. He went from 0 to 60 becasue she's the 'cute kid' right now. Before her was asheley springer, jessica reed, etc etc etc the list could go on. Krysten is only 18 - not that it is an excuse because age doesn't mean anything. One of the most famous magicians in the world and highly successful in the world is a good friend of mine and picked up his first magic book at age 22 so goes to show you age doesn't matter. Krysten will learn who she is eventually and that will only come from more shows and taking advice from trustworthy knowledgable sources who understand her and what would be best for her within her capabilites. she was never on tour with the masters of illusion, there has never been a masters of illusion tour. we did a show called masters of magic ONCE. Hardly a tour. It was produced by a totally different outfit that had in no way any conneciton with the TV series. Please guys just knock and the door will be opened, this is how dirty rumors start and mass confusion. Its the chicken little theory. Lastly I was shocked to find out I was copying criss angel because I had no idea I was in just a self destructive pattern, please give me proof of that I'm copying him and holding back my career. I would have never guessed that I was copying criss angel and this is why I have had no success in my career except the few things like -winning the world magic seminar teen contest at 17 -asked to headline a regular week at the magic castle at 17 after a personal invitation by the president of the AMA with several return appearances -performing for johnny depp's kid's birthday party at the magic castle -national tour of canada with murray hatfield at 19 -3 years in the world's greatest magic show in las vegas filling in for joseph gabriel and eventually replacing him as the bird act - viva las vegas show (longest running afternoon show in las vegas history) 2 years - opening act for amazing jonathan (yes I was one of the few paid opening acts) - world magic awards most original cabaret performer - filmed 12 spots for masters of illusion special - numerious fundrasiers with marshall brodien - headliner of art n' illusion for 3 months in athens greece - command performance in kuwait (which I turned down, didn't want to die haha) not to mention the other numerous magic awards which don't mean anything in the real world and other colleges, performing art centers, and casinos I've had the honor of working with. - all before the age of 24. I must be doing something wrong.

This was her best performance to date. She should not do the street performing segments. Levent was hilarious as usual. Mac King was super, as was Dale Salwak..very smooth zombie though Tom Burgoon did a spoof earlier in the show. Rick Thomas needs a better costume, untucking your shirt when you have a big stomach is not flattering. The "mad lib" guy was entertaining. Overall, a good show.

Actually I'll bet anyone here 5 to 10 odds on $100 that within 5 years Krystyn is a household name with legions of fans. Who's willing to to put there money where their mouth is?

Take what I say anyway you want guys. But, my opinions must have really hit a chord since you two responded in such a confrontational manner.
Why even mention you performed a kids show for Johnny Depp, like it's something to brag about? Not like he helped cast you for the Pirates of the Carribean.. Also, listing all your "achievements" just makes you look like an ass. Also, did you make up the card to egg routine 10 minutes before your segment? Your patter and gestures need a lot of work. Not to mention your load was really bad. Almost as bad as that kid that did card to mouth a week ago. WOW.. Dude with the weird name; why you taking bets on Lampert's career? Tacky. Sincerely, D.L. p.s. Where in my signature does it say IBM President?

Having worked with Krystyn Lambert in the one-off show "MASTERS OF MAGIC" last summer in Colorado (the show was repeated in Missouri this past December, but Krystyn wasn't available for that performance), I can attest to her extraordinary talent, passion and devotion to her chosen art of magic, and to what a wonderful person she is. We'll be doing that show again late this summer (and have hopes that it will indeed tour, even if only a few stops here and there), and I do hope Krystyn can be a part of it again, because she really brought a lot to the table. The audiences were very enthusiastic about her!
And while I'm on the subject, I'll also mention Dan Sperry - who was also part of MASTERS OF MAGIC (both in CO and MO). His act is extremely original and, in my opinion, very unique in the magic world. His style came around way before Criss Angel became popular so I think it's fair to say Dan's not copying anyone. Of all the magicians I know, and I know more than a few, I think Dan is the LEAST like any other magician out there! He too is a joy to work with and our show wouldn't be the same without him. So there you have it, my two cents, from a producer who considers himself pretty picky when it comes to liking magicians' performances. And, if you're interested and want more info on the show, check out the website at http://www.mastersofmagictheshow.com. --Jack |

Two things. First is I missed where someone said Dan Sperry is copying Criss Angel. I have no use for Angel and don't get an Angel vibe from Dan at all. If Angel was more like Dan he'd be better off. Angel is more like...like...a lispy whiney momma's boy than a magician. Dan comes off like a regular guy in costume (do keep in mind I'm from the San Francisco area so his character is a lot more normal to me than it might be to someone from Kansas City).
Second....Krysten is 18 now? In that case she rocks! Big Daddy Cool still doesn't know what he's talking about, in fact his support of her is almost a curse, but I like her enough and think she's done as good a job as anyone. |
