Yep, we have completed another Now That's Magic!, hopefully more to follow shortly! #5 should be posted to http://www.ChristianMagician.org by 3/12/09. #5 features David Ginn doing his feather hoop trick (that he also sells), Duane Laflin doing a Gospel effect using the "Switch Can" which Lock Family Magic sells (as do many other dealers), Duane doing a nice Gospel message with the production "Holy Bible" which ADVANCE/Lock Family Magic are now selling again, Alan Kazam doing the Peanut Butter and Jelly effect which can be purchased from most dealers (made now in India), and MagicBob performs the large Andre' Kole Three Ball Illusion (which can be purchased directly from Andre' Kole) combined with chalk art from SuZie. These programs are aired on cable access channels in SW Michigan, but also made available on the internet to view as well as for Gospel magicians to glean ideas from. Thanks again for all your support, hope you enjoy the program. And yes- we take any of your Gospel magic submissions on DVD for future program consideration. Psalm 67!

Roger, This was another GREAT Program. But I must ask you one question. Are you not getting other submissions for the programs? It seems that I always see the same 4-6 people. Are people sending in DVD's of their performances or are the submissions just not good enough to air. I have thought about sending in some clips of my show on DVD. How do you determine what airs and what does not make the grade so to speak.

Hi, believe it or not, I have not had that many other submissions, just a few (less than 3). Everything is sent to Randy our film editor, we gave complete program content power to him. Otherwise, it could become a political thing, when in fact, what segment goes where is often simply based on time slots available for any given program. I, for example, was not on program #5, although Randy is holding on to some of my stuff that will probably show up down the road someplace. But if not, that is his decision. Randy has another 1.5 hours or more of unused footage at this point in time from various filming sessions, he cobbles them together the best he can into programs. Terry Owens, for example, submitted to us some high quality, fantastic DVD footage. But it has network graphics on it, and Randy probably has not figured out how to use it yet. Another guy submitted a 20 minute straight routine, no breaks, which Randy may be able to use someday if he can ever figure out how to cut it up. I guaranteed Randy I would not interfere with how he puts the individual programs together, it is a labor of love for him, my job is just to try to get to him as much as I can from whatever sources. Duane Laflin, David Ginn, and Brad Brown gave us full permission to use one DVD each submitted to me to use, so small portions of their DVDs are being used up for each program. So more programs are hopefully "in the hopper", and as long as our terrific film editor Randy finds the time to do it (he does it in his basement), we hope to keep putting them out. I recommend Randy to anyone for editing and production, he owns all his own equipment and is great to work with (especially when he does this as a fellow FCMer as his gift to us). Appreciate your positive comments for sure! So yes for sure I'd like more contributors to the programs, everything does get passed on to Randy as soon as I get it. I'd encourage folks to try to keep anything submitted short though.

If we wanted to submit something, how do we go about it? I know you told us once, but can't remember!
Thanks, RevJohn |

Thanks. I prefer your video footage be sent to me on regular DVD. I then catalog it, label it, time it out to the second, and forward it on to our film editor. Then I just sit back and wait for Randy to send me a completed program on DVD using whatever available footage he wants to include. I then copy it immediately, send it out to 5 SW Michigan cable systems and to MagicBob. Bob then puts it on our web site. Send any DVDs (won't be returned) to Roger Bus, 903 East Cork Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49001. I really hope to get some submissions so we can get more variety on the program- much appreciated!

I noticed too that if you go to http://www.youtube.com, then type in "Laflin Magic" in the search box. Then click on "Laflin Promo" This is an excellent piece put together and includes a Gospel ending. Looks like some of the footage was shot from the stage of the FCM convention. Have the Laflins now moved to Tennessee, or are they still based part-time or full time in Montana?
