Hey folks,
I had heard Mr Earls name mentioned before on the Café and I wanted the DVD's but g/f ddin't oblige for Christmas :-( I seen this new magazine when trawling through stands at Blackpool and I picked it up. I've read through it a couple of times and I'm dead impressed. There is some cool tricks and moves and stuff in it, some are kinda tough, to tough for me...lol) but some EZ peesy ones as well that look cool. Has anyone else got it? I'm getting really into my moves and its cool to know I'm in a small group of people that have access. Si |

Expensive for a magazine but with the moves listed its as good as a book I would of thought

I was lucky enough to spend some time with Ben at Blackpool and see some of his amazing stuff for about an hour. He showed me a bunch of false shuffles, deals, deck switches and stuff and he said it's all going to be in upcoming issues of the magazine.
I bought a copy and I am delighted with my purchase. The first issue is really choc full of content, much more so than other magic maggazines. There are no adverts, wel that's not strictly true...there are some funny mock adverts. My fave routine from the first issue is the variation of Chad Long's gambling lesson which I think tunrs this into a really strong trick. I also like the Erdnase bottom deal grip tip as I've always struglled with this. Speaking to ben you get a real idea of how much of a labour of love this has been. Apart from one excellent contribution from his evil twin (lol) derek delguadio the rest of the content is all written by him and designed, layed out etc. It's a real one man band publsihing effort which I think should be applauded. I'm really looking forward to th second issue. Chris Jones |

I was at The Session where the Gambit was launched and where Ben demonstrated some of the moves to a stunned audience of magicians.

I bought this at Blackpool too. A few of the routines/moves are also in his Past Midnight DVD set but there is new stuff too. All excellent and truthfully varies from easy to advanced. Recommended!

Ben started the magazine as a creative outlet for his card thoughts, routines and moves. All of the routines and moves included in Gambit have NEVER BEEN published by Ben before. The whole idea of the magazine is to included fresh, never before seen content from Ben and an occasional contributor.
Can I ask Merlin, which things do you think you had already seen on Past Midnight? I'm curious. I'm a good friend of Ben's and I know how many hundreds of hours he has put into into producing this magazine. It's a great product that I know would be enjoyed by serious students of card magic/gambling technique. Noel |

There is a version of the gambling version on Past Midnight , Merlin.
But this is another version, a lot of routines will probably resemble but are improvements on the older ones. |

Both the routines are handlings of Chad Long's Shuffling Lesson with are completely different in style and method. Hope this clears it up. Once again, anything in the magazine is being released by Ben for the first time.
