For films my favorites are: Fiddler on the Roof, Seven Brides for Seven Daughters, and Oklahoma. Oh, and My Fair Lady too.

Stage would have to be Les Miserables hands down. I saw Phantom and was totally unimpressed, but that's just me as I've been ostracized by my family for my narrow minded view.

We saw a 'Pahntom OTO' at the Pantages a few years ago...it kinda sucked. No...it really sucked.

The movie is well produced and great to look at but the lead is ALL wrong for the part...terrible miscasting.

That's one I never got through on film. Saw a great live performance once. Half way through, the Nazi's SS took over the theater and scared the crap out of everybody...marching down the isles, guns at ready ...flags flying...martial music blaring...VERY effective break in the show to intermission once they 'released' us...

The movie though makes me sleep.

I also like the Music Man.

For me it's the songs that count. I can't say that either movie is my first choice for an evening's entertainment, however.

Music Man easily has the most words per measure of any musical ever written... Smile Smile Smile

I saw the original Little Shop of Horrors with Ellen Greene in the Village...
I really like the song "SkidRow (Downtown)"
The Frank Oz film version of this number is great!

Know how did I forget little shop...I love Ellen Greene in it!!! I really like how her character development is implemented thru her singing as well...She has very airy thin voice until "Suddenly Seymour" when her voice "opens" to full bloom-I get shivers every time I hear it.
