PatrickGregoire: Magic IS NOT fooling your audience.
Like I said this gives miles of discussion and everyone has a different side of view. Some will tell x and some will tell y. No problem I can handle and understand different sides of view. Best, Elcio |

All I mean is that simply entertaining is not magic. Magic is entertainment, but the basis of magic is puzzles, regardless if it is entertaining or not. It SHOULD be entertaining, but magic is puzzles. If this weren`t true, any form of entertainment could be considered magic.

I personally think the effect is awesome!
It is extremely visual, and totally impromptu! Not to mention, it is just plain FUN to do! =Frank=

Silly question:
Can it be performed with a sculpture balloon? Thanks in advance! Cheers M. |

No it cannot....Sculpture balloons are WAY to thin to put anything into.

So I did this in a stand up show tonight, and...... It killed, that's right!!
I didn't do it as a major effect but I blew the balloon up asked if I could barrow a cell phone and I did the effect gave it back the to the person and went on with my show. It was very quick and went very good, people were talking about after the show! Im also going to try to use in one of my resturants this week. -K |

Has anyone seen this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMBmHeTFix0 Posted on November 12, 2008. Before Pressure was released. I am sure it was filmed much before that date. |

Good seated variation of Sankey's airtight in the video. However it's diminished somewhat when the camera cuts away twice during the moves. The portion that is similar to "Pressure" is a better way to apparently get the deck in the balloon. But I would have loved to see what the subsequent switch looked liked while seated.

If you could someone in corporate this method and switch out the ballon, this would be an amazing prelude to Jay Sankey's Airtight

I went to a magic show recently, and I was asked for my cell phone. I got my cell phone back alright, but it was soaking wet for some reason, and it smelled. I don't want to know the method for this, but are toxic chemicals used in this one?
Regards, Mike |

Hi Phatmeat,
I used to watch Different Strokes all the time. I loved the, "Villas, whadhyau talkin' bout?" line. Arnold was my man (or kid). Okay, glad to hear that. I was dead serious about my question. I have a slight rash on my hand, and I just wanted to make sure. Thanks! Regards, Mike |

Wow! Why cant I get the clean up right? I want to perform this sooo bad! I do the move in step 2 but looks so *** sloppy .. I can see my spec's now "ahh .. why are you r*****g it?" I know I know fellow magicians, laymen shouldn't get this .. but Ive already showed 2 laymen and they said exactly this. So the only way I seem comfortable performing this piece is with "NO" cleanup. I bounce it and carefully show it both sides (very carefully if you know what I mean) then rip it open myself. Unfortunately, this takes a lot out of my effect which hurts my heart as a magician. Ive attached a video without the move.

Can anybody help me with the clean up with the ending where it's popped? How do you hand it to the spec's after the move when it's all messed up?

I'm guessing you don't have the DVD because they go over this pretty well on there.

Why is it when simple questions are asked paranoia in some are triggered instantly. I need "help" with the cleanup because first off, the move looks too suspicious and my specs are always like "If it's in the balloon then why do you need to fo all tht afterwards. But thank you others for your PM with tips. Stucky, if you require me to send you a photo with the DVD I purchased with my hard earned money, just let me know! Otherwise, feel free to give me some advice, something this forum was meant for. |
