While I side with Pete on 'best approach,' books and DVD's are they way most will go. You can learn from either, but from what I have observed, watching DVD's leads to trying to emulate the performer rather than the performance. So, use books for the basics, then DVD's for inspiration --

Mark Raffles' The Legacy DVD is mostly a pickpocketing DVD but it's got a great segment on his cups and balls with chicks routine. So if you ever want to produce livestock, this is the source. I'd have to say that the description of working with the baby chicks in the Ross Bertram book is a must read. There is also some excellent baby chick work on The Legendary Magic of Ross Bertram.

You can't really pull off Gazzo's performance, but you can still learn from his teaching of the routine. Without all the "Gazzo"isms, it's still a solid routine and if you focus on the details he emphasizes (wand placement, justification for going to the pouch, "dirty" hand management,) you'll learn a lot, not necessarily about the newest C&B "moves" but all the other details that make things run together smoothly.
