Ya know, the big box stores move in and run out the small guys then they start offering lower quality to match their lower prices. Charities are scams, companies are laying people off and those that keep their jobs are having more pressure put on them and treated like garbage because the bosses know they can get away with it. Banks are thieves, gas companies think everyone is an idiot. I'm use to all this. Now some may know I'm one of the unemployed masses and I go to job faires when offered. Someone explain to me how a job fair can be put on with NO empoyers!
I, along with several hundred people, go to this thing (I won't go into my opinion of people showing up, by the great percentage, in tshirts and jeans and not brushing their hair) and the booths are: on line universities looking for $800 a month from people to take classes, insurance companies selling life insurance and auto insurance, a temp agency with no jobs but looking for people to pay for courses on 'how to be a book keeper', oh, there was one guy offering to let you pay thousands for the chance to be an internet millionaire. Hey, if there are no jobs out there that is one thing, but to hustle people into thinking they are going to a place where they might have a job opportunity and it is called a job faire and the only ones there are trying to hustle money from those who need work to earn money! I'm starting to really hate the world. |

It's over to be sure.
While there is still plenty of Prey afoot, the feeding frenzy is the rule...But when any environment becomes overrun with Predators, only Canabalism can ensue...right now there is LOTS sheeple to be sheared, shorn and souffled.

You want to hate the world? Work at one of those "box stores" for a while, I used to like people!

Poor Justin is just scratching his head "what? A job? Uh...".
Ed, I worked at Home Depot for the fun of it (okay, I signed up to get a store discount, they don't get a discount) and while it may have been because it wasn't my main job I really enjoyed it. I only had one customer who was really bad but for the most part I had a great time. |

If you are going to take advantage of people, the moment when they are most desperate (And people are the least intelligent when most desperate) is the best time to do it.
Good buisness for bad people.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

Anger rock...love it. I like their style of one guy being the outer voice while the other guy is the inside the head freakin' out voice. Just like me! Today I listened to If You Want Blood, AC/DC live with Bon Scott! Makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

The bad ones are the ones who "test spray" the paint; "I have to see what color it is!" (OK, I did actually see that guy, but he qualifies under "stupid!") Sadly, we had a death in our store a year or so ago. The other stores loaned us workers and management to free up our personnel who wanted to go to the wake and funeral. When it was over, and our guys came back. One of the managers from another store said to the manager he'd been subbing for; "My God! I don't know how you do this! You must have the worst customers in Rhode Island!"

Well, no offense but to people outside of New England (and I love Rhode Island and New England) the people come off as pushy, offensive, scumbags. When I started working for a Boston based company it took a long time to get use to how they were.
At home depot we had one guy who complained all the time but he did it with a slice of humor so he was okay. He had already been banned from Lowes because he drove people nuts, I'd see him and walk up and mutter "god this place sucks!" and he'd be happy. The other guy was extremely rude to everyone, and it resulted in my offering to take him to the parking law and beating his arse. That was the last time I saw him but I was very serious, I was going to beat him with a shopping cart and he deserved it. |

Improve there magic, or find another job?

In Rhode Island (and apparently ONLY in Rhode Island) we have two different brands of coffee flavor syrup to make coffee milk with! One couple came into Wal*Mart last summer and bought ten bottles to send to their son who was in college somewhere where he couldn't get coffee milk. I myself never liked the taste of coffee, so coffee milk was wasted on me!
