My wife sat down and wrote a poem to go along with the trick, if you want a copy I will send it to you via PM, however all I ask is if you use it, send me something you no longer use, a card effect, something it does not matter what.

I believe I have a copy of the original instruction sheet from the set I sold a couple years ago.

Does anyone still make "Giant & Dwarf" or is it only available on the secondary market? NUMS... I'll send you a PM about your wife's poem.

Thanks. I think that's the one I saw a while back. I just couldn't remember where and an internet search came up empty-handed.

Right now, even Giant & Dwarf is outside my price range! Smile

But since I'm performing a lot this month, I'm close to getting all the medical (and car repair) bills paid and hope to start making some more purchases again soon. Smile

Giant Dwarf..

Set up...

Legs in the back of the "Castle".

Dwarf in one of the stands.
Giant in the other stand with smaller giant behind it.

Pick up Castle and look through it...(without hopefully saying..this is a normal empty tube/castle.)

Dwarf goes up to the top of castle to look around...
Actually the bottom of dwarf is connected to the longer legs.

The castle is used to cover the stand with the Giant.(and the mini Giant behind it)

The Dwarf is slowly lifted up.(from the top of the castle)..and shazam he is growing growing....

Place the big dwarf(due to the longer legs) him back on the stand.

Lift the castle and the big Giant leaving the little Giant. Big Giant is set aside inside the Castle

Several themes I have used for this trick...include..
bullying
fear
dreams
inner strength

find something that fits you and your character.

Thanks for the opportunity to help a fellow magician.

Over the years I have been blessed with a lot of mentors.(in person and on line)

Be safe, well and creative...

I've even turned the castle into Santa's workshop with a small sign. Now the dwarf is one of Santa's elves and the routine works for Christmas shows. I bought one of these in the mid 70's. I was fortunate enough to find one in great shape and very affordable a couple of years ago. Now my one from the 70's is a back up. It's a fun prop with lots of potential.

Harris - that's an interesting alternative - did you actually mean it as it reads?

Normally, the Dwarf is first removed from the tube before the tube is placed over the Giant. Then he can be removed from the top, the story continued and the Giant replaced, this time where the legs were.

Leaves the tube clean and allows, if you wish for you to overlook the small giant, looking instead in the castle.

Hi Tony...

I got mine 12 or so years ago at an auction...no instructions ...so I made it up as I played with this useful prop...

Sometimes...it is a dream sequence around halloween...

Thanks for letting me know the "real scoop".

Although for some routines I like to be super clean...many times....I work the cleaning up into the routine / and or sequence of routines...

You are appreciated once again by,

Harris

Thanks Everyone! The problem I was having is that the Castle doesn't completely cover the bases. Is that typical? Or do I have a weird version?

It is a Supreme version, isn't it?

Edwin changed the stands. Don't ask about the Jack Hughes ones. They were two different styles (one with extending backward legs) and less efficient than Edwin's.

However, Edwin's stands are interchangeable. Simple rectangular pieces of pine with a slot cut across the narrow dimension. The castle sits on top, near the front over the slot. Yes, the central part of the castle sits on the stand and the two sides of the castle overhang. That's as it should be.

The purpose of the 'extra length' is to provide leverage against the very tall Giant Dwarf falling over backwards.

Simple, they work fine, are less heavy than a full width slab of timber and interchangeable.

By the way, the slot is stepped. For the Giant put the small giant in the full slot and the big giant into the step. When you come to take away the big giant it will move without fouling the small giant.

As I mentioned to you in my PM, after removing the Giant Dwarf, put it into the stand and it will stay firmly upright (provided you don't catch it with anything.)

Then place the empty castle over the Giants and later, remove the larger by drawing up through the top. Replace it but actually into the back compartment. Leaves you clear to lift the castle and reveal the small giant.

Incidentally, the small giant artwork shows a scared and trembling version.
