Lots of online magic stores sell all 4 volumes on one CD-ROM for $39. Each volume is its own PDF file and you can drag them onto your computer or iPhone or whatever.

There is still a reason for getting the real books, if you can. Among other things, the original volumes 1-3 are hand lettered!

The hand lettering is the reason the PDF version has so many errors in it. An Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software program was used to convert it to text, and it appears that no one bothered to then edit the text to correct the OCR errors that always crop up.

Professor,

I was unaware of that. So OCR stands for Overly Careless Review! I can see how that does hurt the product's reliability.

Morrissey Magic in Toronto has them on sale right now for $10.00 Canadian (about $8.00 U.S.). This is the CD Rom with all 4 volumes on it.

I just picked one up a few days ago. I don't know how many they have left now.

Just a footnote: even though the PDF version made more sense for me economically, I have found myself wishing I had the hardcopy.

It's my biggest treasure; even though it's weighs a lot and makes travelling by air interesting. I always have them in my laptop bag, which makes the bag big and heavy.

Volume 2 of the real thing (autographed by Harold Rice) is a bedside reference that I have always used for new ideas. It is always easy to think of another application of his classic effects.

You do know that Harold Rice was an Art Professor at the University of Alabama? (Oh! What good taste!) I don't know why there was never a Bear Bryant silk.

Then he moved to Ohio to try to spread knowledge.

Regan,

Just how much information does it take to know all about a fabric made by bugs?

In fact, they abandoned it and we buy it!

Bob, I don't know. You know I don't know much about anything! However, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so after one more night here I may be an expert about any subject you care to discuss! Smile

Forget the digital, get the books. They're beautiful productions.

The problem with the scanned book to text is that the fonts were not a total success. There are cases where the scan is different from the real book. So you still need the real books!
