I came across this website the other day and it is just brimming with stories and prop potential.
http://www.foxco-2ndbn-9thmarines.com/ace_of_spades.htm I particularly like the story of the soldier using the deck of cards as a Bible and the psychological story of the death card. Enjoy...
For as long as space exists,
And living beings remain in cyclic existence, For that long, may I too remain, to dispel the sufferings of the world. -Shantideva Engaging in the Conduct of a Bodhisattva |

These death cards used in VIet Nam are available on E-bay at present.
Routines concerning the soldier and the deck of cards can be found in Robert E. Neales book " Life, Death and Other Card TRicks. Song versions of the story were recorded by Tex Ritter and WInk Martindale among others. The story originated during the Civil War, then expanded to relate toother conflicts in differnt eras. I would imagine it could be cleverly modified to apply to any war time conflict. Kotah |

Every object I need for the routine is presented on the helmet.
Plus I add some newspapers from the era and two vietnamese divination tools. |
