I didn’t see a formal review anywhere so here goes….
Title- Autograph Performer- Justin Miller Format- DVD Type- Close Up, Card, Strolling Available- Ellusionist, Justin Miller Lecture, B&M shops Retail Price- $24.95 What’s included? 56 gimmicks What will you need to provide? A Red backed deck of Bicycles, 1 blue sharpie, 1 black sharpie Effect: If you are familiar with the Anniversary Waltz effect than you’ll immediately recognize the plot. Justin has developed a plot for this routine in which the magician’s signature on a card visually changes places with the spectator’s signature and in the end the two cards end up fused together. Check out the ellusionist site for the demo. Overall DVD Quality- As usual Ellusionist puts together an excellent DVD. The footage is create, the in studio explanation is easy to see, and the title/menu screens are nice. Performance Portion- There are numerous ‘street’ performances on the DVD. In those performances Justin shows both easy and more difficult versions of the trick Explanation: Justin was thorough with the explanation. He goes over an ‘easy’ method and a slightly more difficult method. Quite honestly if you have been working with cards for more than a few months, you may already use the sleight which is deemed the more difficult one. My only gripe with the explanation is that while I do find everything he says very helpful, I wish there was a quick explanation available on the DVD that didn’t include all the lines and psychology behind the effect, just the bare bones moves. That way you could go back and review something much quicker. My experience with it: Before putting using it in a paying gig, I thought I would give it a trial run at a bar I frequent on St. Patty’s day. I showed it to my table of friends and a few of the wait staff who know I’m a magician. It received great reactions. In fact, when I went back to the bar this past Saturday night for dinner, my girlfriend noticed the signed card hanging up behind the bar. I had 3 gimmicks prepared that night and ended up performing it 3 different times, each time for groups of 8 or more and each time receiving great reactions. I like that this effect resets so quickly. Any negatives? Not really but just so you know, you will destroy a card each time in addition to a gimmick but you do that every time you perform any sort of signed card trick anyway. If you saw the demo and liked the trick then this trick is for you. If you weren’t too interested in it, then you weren’t going to buy it anyway. I hope this review was helpful. |

Yes, It is baobow. I have Trans-fixed and when Autograph came out I shot an e-mail to Justin asking the same question that you did. He comfirmed that they are indeed the same. Just re-named and re-packaged for release through E.
