Of course no one knows the answer. What did you think?
IMHO gravity would take the ball to the center of the earth, and the rotation of the earth would cause the ball to whip back and forth, but I have no way of proving my theory.

The water swirls the same direction in Australia as it swirls here. People in Australia are upside-down, so they're looking at the swirling water from the other side, so it appears to go in the opposite direction!
The serious answer is that the Coriolis effect is way to weak to have any significant effect on the direction water swirls as it goes down a drain. The geometry and the tilt of both the basin and the drain are vastly more significant factors. snopes.com on this issue
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.

I thought this thread was about the direction of rivers flowing.
All the rivers I've ever have seen around the World flow North to South. Then while living in Springfield, Oregon for 8 months along the Willamette River it flowed South to North, it was quite disturbing to watch, really strange. Like watching water flow uphill. |

Yes, there are. The problem is that some people continue to think of North as up and South as down. Hence the idea that rivers flowing from South to North are going "uphill." It's land elevation, and not an arbitrary up and down orientation of the globe, that determines river flow.
