I had someone ask for a Gimpy's Light & Heavy chest that has a nesting box instead of a tray. This opens up a lot of new possibilities. This is a fully automatic light & heavy chest and both boxes can be inspected inside.
I've attached a picture showing one that was built custom for a show, but they could be made in about any style to fit other themes. I would be interested to get ideas on how this new prop might be themed for a show. Also, any ideas on how it could be made better, something else it could do, etc. Thanks, Gimpy Click here to view attached image.

Can the box placed inside be made smaller, and the outside box have a wooden frame but clear perspex panals so it looks even more empty. The idea for me would be for the smaller box to hold a relic/artifact. The smaller and lighter looking the better, especially if the inside box could be very small

These have great potential for bizaar, storytelling or hypno types of effects as well as comedy. Gimpy makes the best. I was hopeing for more input from the Café as this guy can deliver the rolls royce of lite heavy boxes

Don't know if this has been done many times before or not, but what about - (with a plexi / see-thru inner display type box) - you go with a medieval theme using a very small, broken piece of metal. It is described as a piece of the legendary Sword in the Stone. Though the sword was destroyed centuries ago, it still retains its power. Placing it into the clear (perhaps satin cushioned box) the story is told how it cannot be lifted except by its rightful owner.
I've used a version of this before, but a prop like this would be great. |

I suggest, almost similar to the tray (in its functioning), a nesting box with a rounded top (lid) (something like a pirate chest) will look nice, go with the theme & will effectively do the job it is meant to. The main box can have a flat or a rounded lid (will depend on personal preference).
