John has a couple of them out. If you want his combo cup routine, it and the sequel to it are available from Morrissey Magic in Canada. It's a worthwhile manuscript. It is very inexpensive.

Kent raises an interesting proposition. He suggests in his last post here that it would be better for a beginner to start out with a chop cup. Personally, I'm not sure I agree. Although it may seem counter-intuitive, my own experience has been that basic three cup routines are generally easier to grasp than single cup routines. Would be interested in hearing what others think.

Fortasse,
Perhaps it varies from one student to the other. In my case, the study of the chop cup or in my case the one cup routine, pretty much prepared me for the 3 cups routine. In the single cup study, The steals/loads etc are pretty much one and the same, but more difficult because there is one focal point...the single cup. For me learning and mastering the chop/single cup is a great prep or even a "medicine ball" for the multiple cups. I even think that after learning the 3 cup routine...it is even difficult to construct a strong 2 cup routine. Probably because most routines are based on the 1 and 3 cups routine that were made popular by the past masters. Having said that, I know of some performers who does the full 3 cups routine but never performed a single/chop cup routine. Rannie

My advice would be to gather all the info you can on it. There are countless books and videos devoted to the cups and balls. That said the sources I found most useful are:Frank Garcia's The Very Best of Cups and Balls Stephen's Cups and Balls Teach In by Stevens Magic EmporiumTommy Wonder also has a fantastic routine.
