I was wondering what were Johnny Main's main figures he used?
Is there any video of him anywhere? Thanks |

There are videos in Ventriloquist Central
He had Marshalls...and also made his own. But perhaps Dan Willinger can elaborate on hat matter...he owns some of Johhny Main's figures. Wanlu

Ace19 You must go to my website www.ventriloquistcentralcom and look at the figure collection. I own ALL of the Johnny Main figures. His main figure was a Marshall he called Archie but he also used Waldo, Candy and Bulah and they were all made by Frank Marshall. He also used an aray of figures he built himself. All are pictured. There is much to see and read about Johnny Main on my site.

Thanks Dan,
That is a wonderful site you have. I was wondering if anyone would have pictures of Stanley Burns figures as well? |

Ace19 If you go to the Marshall Page on my collection I have Stanley Burns first Dr Lichi figure pictured. It is a very unusual figure with different ways to operate the mouth. Check it out!!

I think Johhny Main also had a Semok figure...that must be the old man he called Papa Poloz (or something). I think it was given to him as a gift That figure now belongs to Pete Michaels. He must have made a back-up head...would anyone know anything about this and elaborate please

Wanlu I own Papa number 1. When I purchased the collection I insisted that Papa number 2 be sold to Pete because he wanted to continue doing the routine with Papa. If you go to my collection page you will see that Papa is there. You are also correct that the both of them were made by Semok and the first one was given to Johnny by a group who purchased him from Alan for Johnny. Great bit of information and now you know the whole story.
Also the copy of Gutters is in the Vent Haven Museum. It was donated by Johnny Jr. before he sold me the rest of the collection. Gutters was made by Johnny Main. The other Gutters is in my collection. He had back up copies of all his figures. A very smart idea!! Dan http://www.ventriloquistcentral.com |

What were the names of Stanley Burns' figures?
I also want to know what year was Johnny Main's first Archie carved? Is there any video of Johnny using Archie? |

Johnny Main's original Archie was carved by Frank Marshall in 1955. Unfortunately I have not been able to locate any footage of Johnny Main using his Marshall figures. If anyone reading this knows of any footage PLEASE contact me.

How many Oscar figures did the great Peter Rich own? Did one of his Oscar's become Raw Hide?

He owned 2 Oscars. One is now owned by Geoorge Boosey. Peter still has the other.
