The National Association of Mobile Entertainers has agreed to provide individual policies and coverage for stage hypnotists. To purchase insurance contact:
Dale Wittick, CPCU; your insurance broker, at phone 610-260-4342 You can find additional information at http://www.SafeOnStage.com This is where I have purchased my indurance and other professionals have there insurance. To quote on of our other members, some of the benefits of this policy: The National Association of Mobile Entertainers have also agreed to facilitate all the insurance processing for Stage Hypnotists for a $50 processing fee. Steve Gomez is their contact and his telephone number is 800.434.8274. The insurance carrier offering this insurance is Great Midwest Insurance Company and is an A tier rated insurer with A.M. Best. They have informed me that once the on-line tutorial is available they will require each Stage Hypnotist take the tutorial and following questions before purchasing the insurance to assist in minimizing potential claims against the program. Any Stage Hypnotist that has purchased the insurance prior to the tutorial being available will be requested to complete it within 30 days of its availability. I have a commitment from the carrier that the rates will never increase past the $300 liability premium per Stage Hypnotist as long as the Stage Hypnotist group loss ratio stays below 30%. This is the same loss ratio benchmark in place for each of the other types of talent insured through this mobile entertainer program. If the loss ratio stays below 20% for the group of insured Stage Hypnotists I will request a rate reduction for the group. The current program insures magicians, disc jockeys, bands, photographers, videographers just to name a few of the industries. If you have other lines of business beyond Stage Hypnotist operations to insure please call me directly. We look forward to assisting you with your insurance needs. Cordially, Dale Wittick, Jr. CPCU Vice President HRH Online E-insurance Operations 610-260-4342 Share

I would be very curious what losses (if any) there are with hypnotists. Its just hard to imagine a honest claim of sorts unless of course an injury on stage.
When I performed magic and kids shows, I was really paranoid of something happening to a little one and took a gamble. I had a kid eating rabbit and all sorts of accidents waiting to happen. When I switched to mentalism, occasionally I will entertain older kids and have considered the thought of migrane claims. I wonder if someone ever got sued for boredom? Candin

There have been many claims, some legitimate and others not. A few have been for "inappropriate" touching during a show (which has nothing to do with hypnosis), but most have been for falls during skits. Falling offstage when acting as a rock star, tripping over props used in skits, etc. in the past years a few injuries have been substantial (stages can be pretty high) and injuries significant. I do not know of any legitimate claims for psychological injury.
And even the falls, are not really "hypnosis" related, they could have happened in a magic show, or any other audience participation activity or show....
