Why not use it as a phone?
the app should be able to select a card and then emulate the phone interface calling a friend, where you could record 53 answers (to include the joker) and have multiple languages (for polyglots). Set the language in settings to pick the set of "conversations" then each card will have a set script: e.g. you: "Hi Jane, I am here with Bob and he picked a card and I can't find it..." Jane: "Hi Tim, just picture the card in your head, ready?" you: "yeah! OK..." Jane: "I see a picture card, female, red... the queen of heats... am I right?" you: "Wow, thanks Jane, you really saved my bacon this time..." Jane: "It's a pleasure, take care..." You: "Bye..." hang up... app could be fake conversation and be so flexible non magicians could use this. I just realized I could get rich developing this myself... so COPYRIGHT Tim Dowd September 2009

You don't even need an app just record the fake conversations and have a playlist in the iPod app for each suit set the album art to emulate the phone interface.
use Garage Band to create your conversations or for PC users use Audacity from sourceforge.net have fun, not rich, boo hoo...

You could also program these false conversation pieces for the "other person" to "be able to send the image" of what she is seeing in his/her eyes mind.

Already working on the conversations, will let you know when I am done. I am using the Podcast feature in Garageband and iTunes to create the conversations that way everything is the same except the name of the card or object. Each suit is a podcast and has 13 episodes so you can quickly select the correct one. It uses the same amount of key strokes as if you were really looking someone up in your contact list. It's a bit like peters nose (peter knows) without setting up the phone numbers.

Yes real smart... but try with the "mental transfer" of card images as well: it's more visual as a proof than just having the spectator confirming that the person at the other end of the line was right.

Let me send you the image I see" The image of the queen of heatsappears for about ten seconds (for spectators to have the time to see it before it fades away). you: "Wow, thanks Jane, you really saved my bacon this time..." Jane: "It's a pleasure, take care..." You: "Bye..." hang up...
