Looking for suggestions on a sword basket illusion. Has anyone used the Abbotts basket? Is it a good entry level illusion, or would you suggest something else?
Thanks! Jim

I've used the Abbott's basket and like it. Of course, a lot of people would argue that it's not a true wicker basket and of course, it isn't. But it is a solid illusion and when performed properly, you can get a great reaction from it. Plus, it's versatile enough to pull a second girl out of.

We're scheduled to do a demonstration of this middle of next week, we're going to produce the owner of Abbotts in the demo.
Attached is a picture of how David Seebach uses it in his show, pretty creative fellow. Click here to view attached image. |

Wow! Greg must be feeling terrific if he's now moonlighting as a box-jumper! Maybe an upside down straight jacket escape next!
Seriously, the website continues to look great. Excellent work Chuck...see you in August! |

Great idea for the Abbott's sword basket...thanks for the photo. Another idea is to theme it as a "witches" pot...for a Halloween show...brewing up a magic spell!!!See everyone in August...

Why doesn't someone come up with a new method for this where you can put in a bunch of swords and it doesn't look so obvuous that a person could fit in the basket and the few stuck in swords are just going around them?

My wife and I use the Abbotts basket for one of our signature pieces and are very happy with it. Of course, we use it for a comedy routine as a "personality piece" rather than serious issues of life and death or disappearance and reappearance. That works best for us, as msmaster has pointed out, it's sometimes hard to take this illusion too seriously. Just my $0.02, I'm sure others will disagree.
One of the practical things I like about the Abbotts basket is for a slight trade off in appearance for not being a tradtional "wicker" basket, it can be used to safely pack smaller things inside for transport. |

I saw the sword asket version of Zaney Blaney! It's fantastic and the idea to put the lights in the outside is fantastic too!

Here is the Basket Girl video we did, be sure to watch at the end for a surprise. It amazes me that 7 months ago Greg was on the operating table getting a new heart. Now that's real magic!

The Pendragon's new DVD set offers great insight on this illusion and all the details needed to make a powerful presentation.
