How about just two sponge balls? That's enough to do John Carney's great routine ("Current Classic") and really reduces that "bulge in your pants" effect . . .

I use four 2" ones of course they only see 3 but then I use an eight inch one for the a great ending.

I can carry six 2" sponge balls in my Silk to Egg gimmicked egg.

At the latest Ammar lecture, he tips a gimmicked pill bottle that he uses to load a dozen or so SB in his pocket. Keeps them compact and easy to grab the whole load. Think large divided dye tube.

The finale with a lot of little sponge ball was created by Dr Jacks not by Eugene Burger (who's crediting the creator very honestly). The problem is not so much to carry them (there are solution to that question as explained in various posts), it's also to get on your knees to get all the ones which rolled out back, losing a lot of the prestige that the routine and its finale gained for the performer. I strongly suspect that this is one of the reason why Eugene stopped performing it.
That's what made me choose the finale with the very large ball. Thus I need four (two of two contrasting colors) and the large ball. I keep them in Gozinta boxes before spreading them in the proper pockets.
