Any of the black teas from Sri Lanka, Darjeeling, and Lapsang Souchong. Tea should be drunk from a glass. It may all come from the same plant but it's processed differently.

I'm proud to say that when early Australians decided to mutiny against the English (fittingly represented by Governor Bligh, of Bounty fame) we had not a Tea Party, but a Rum Rebellion.

I like my tea, which arrived through a port most likely built, run or at least overseen by the Government. It is off loaded by Union Laborers, who earn a living wage, and, before it is put on trucks -- driven by union represented truckers on roads built and maintained by the government -- it is inspected by Federal Employees working for the FDA to assure that it is safe for consumption.
I brew it in water that is brought to my house through pipes installed and maintained by our local municipality. I heat it with electricity which too is maintained and operated by our local city government. 100% green power to boot. I drink my Tea in my house which is on a street maintained by the city. If I forget to turn the stove off firemen, all government workers, will come to put out the blaze. The city employees police to protect my tea, city inspectors, to make sure the construction of my house where I'm drinking it, was up to code as it was being built and people to establish what these codes should be. So because of the government built and maintained infrastructure I can drink an inexpensive cup of tea in the safety and comfort (again because of government workers) of my home. And for all of this we have one of the lowest tax rates in the industrialized world today.

Payne, That's EXACTLY why big government sucks. I don't drink tea, and yet here the government provides all of those expensive services just so YOU can drink YOUR tea! It's just an excuse to pick my pocket so elite, pinky-raising tea-drinkers like you can enjoy your luxuries.

Twinings, Bigelow, Republic of Tea, Celestial Seasons...Too many varieties on hand to even pick. I have a cupboard literally filled with various teas- Herbal to black, tons of flavors. Tea is a food group.
I prefer to make it in a Russian tea press and serve it in either Asian teacups without handles or in very small teacups (With a saucer of course!) But even that depends on the type of tea being served. Chai latte's have specific cups (Larger for the addition of copious amounts of milk) as do certain Russian teas served lukewarm. Tea is an art and a science. And if I ever catch someone dunking a tea bag to speed up the process, I smack them. You are damaging the tea! Fools and blasphemers the lot of 'em! Gwyd |
