Though not entirely a coin in bottle, I love prohibition. It's a very clean cap in bottle effect. And, not to offend anyone, but why would you want to penetrate a coin? A bottle cap is much more handy and looks much more natural in that type of situation, don't you think?

Ask Pete Biro about his cap into the bottle... It's a killer.
Actually what about making a coin go into the bottle, have a spectator to try and let the cap to join the coin through the neck, and and then let the cap go in through the bottom? I'm getting ideas here... It can't go in the neck, breath out on the bottom... Repeat with the cap... It's the same effect but it's a different trick...! Hmmm

Your idea of doing both intrigues me. I would also add, to start the routine, the cigarette thru quarter (Karrell Fox's way).
Do cig thru quarter... then coin follows and as you are about to put the cap back on it "accidentally" goes INTO the bottle.

I remember Derek (Dingle) doing the cig through quarter in Eric von Stroheim's style.
We could then let the cigarette be put off in the bottle, then pass both the coin, and then the cap through the bottom... or Do the cig through quarter in Eric von Stroheim's style (as a tribute to both Eric and Derek), switch the gimmicks as you pocket the lighter back leaving the real coin in the spectator's hand for recheck, use the smoke as a cause to make the coin go through the bottom of the bottle, then repeat with the cap, before, tongue in cheek, put the cigarette in the bottle through the neck to put it off (the cigarette is not hard enough to pass through the bottom and IT can go through the neck)... or something like that. May I remind you that you don't smoke, Pete, but I do! (the art of using one's own weaknesses).

You got to love the logic Lawrence puts into sequencing routines. Never get tired of reading it.
