Most people are listing 2 or 3... I know it is hard to pin it down to just one... so I will go ahead add a couple more too
My first choice is Fred Kaps... but defenitely Jeff McBride would be another. Lance Burton and I'd have to say Pete Biro as well... I have done some reading on him... and I really think he would be interesting,..and could tell some GREAT stories too. |

I have been fortunate to be able to spend time with a number of those listed. By far the most enjoyable and creative time has been with Jeff McBride.
Pete Biro is still available -- and was wonderful when I visited him several years ago -- and I would like to spend time with Mac King and Teller. ime with Billy MComb was always a challenge to catch him at the right time ---- and before he started imbibing too much he was a wonderful personality. My time with Stan Kramien was wonderful -- he is the last of the truly old one man carnie magic shows...... John Calvert is great in small doses -- he has earned the right to be repetitious of stories he has told many times. I was greatly priviledged to spend several dinners with Tommy Wonder. His thoughtful approach to life and magic intertwined into a magical presence that is only hinted at in the Books of Wonder. His thoughts on music, coordinated action and mystery -- made hom truly one of a kind. And -- today -- I would like to live a while in John Riggs pocket----

I would talk to different magicians for different reasons.
If I could only pick one, it would be Copperfield. Love him or hate him, you have to admit no one knows the business of magic better than he does. |

Stan Kramien would be my choice. I've had some words with John Calvert, Bob Brown, Lee Grabel, but Stan seems like a treasure chest of knowledge that would be right down my alley. I was so looking forward to going to his get-together this year but heard it was canceled. Next year for sure.
