Hallo everybody,
Having studied Fred Braue's Homing Card effect I was wondering if anybody had the same thought like me, that there might be missing a climax at the end of the effect. What do you think about and what kind of finish do you use ? I've heard that Bob Sheet's has a different ending for this effect. What does he makes happening at the end ? Thank you for your inputs in advance. Oliver. |

To give a little idea.
I thought of all discarded cards during the routine to get "transformed" into the same card. Exemple : If the homing card would be the nine of hearts, at the end all cards would become the nine of hearts. Now, I don't know if this is adding something to the end of the effect or absolutetly not... Oliver. |

Just watch a video of Fred Kaps performing it. It's the first effect in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMjxkHM-hQM

I came up with my own handling for this effect (available on my website), but opted for no additional climax. Here's why...
The effect is pure on its own. The diminishing number of cards creates a scenario that begins with surprise, that eventually transcends into suspense. The climax has everything to do with the timing of the reveals, especially, the last card. I have seen versions that ended with color-changing backs and other such garbage that, IMO ruined the trick.

Thank you for the link Alan. I've watched this video already a few times and I'm still re-watching it again and again.
Michael, thank you for your comment. THat's what I wanted to know. If it wuold make sens or not, if it would ruin the effect or not. The effect is excellent, but I always thought that a few audience members might think, that you're not doing what you pretend doing (sorry, can't tell more if you know what I mean). Maybe I should just try to present the effect and see how the audience reacts. Thank you again. Oliver. |
