Just curious as to some of the witty responses some of you have when you are in public and someone asks you "what am I thinking?"
I actually had a conversation with a Magician after his show, and I told him I specialize in mentalism. He asked me to tell him what he is thinking. I had some witty response, don't remember now what I said! Let's hear your best lines! |

You look at the spec and say: "You're thinking: 'Is there any way he could possibly know about me and Richard'."
If he denies it, you say: "Yes you are". And walk away, nodding wisely.

I saw a joke on an old tv show once where the one character asked the other to tell him what the next thing he was going to say was. He replied simply with:
"Nope, that's not it" |

"could I read your mind? well...yes, yes I could...however- I think you'd be more interested in what your friends really think about you, wouldnt you? to know what THEY are thinking...
do you know, that the people you really care about the most, they think there's only two things about you that are annoying... everything you say, and everything you do..." I like the "nope, that's not it..."

Anything comically sexual seems appropriate, since their denial of that thought seems to onlookers to merely be an attempt to distance themselves from embarassment rather than a report on your accuracy. Basically something that alleviates the tension seems appropriate, I'll have to use this line sometime hehe. |

Although the thoughts of anyone who asks that question are very obvious I always say I wouldn't have a clue what they're thinking.
But when they ask, as they often do, "Can I ask you a question?" I display my uncanny knack for reading minds by immediately answering the question I suspect they are about to ask. "8 inches". They are either amused or confounded. Either way they are entertained. Destiny |

I wouldn't ever give a smartalec response to this kind of question but if I did it would be along the lines of:
"What am I thinking?" "Well the lower a person's IQ the less I'm able to pick up their thoughts.... but I can tell you what everyone else here is thinking if you'd like" Neal
