Hi,
I am not sure if this piece is scary, but I thought some of the members would enjoy him. I recently built a Magic Satyr Head. He is posted on Youtube. His link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LJ9ZtmygS0 I think one of the advantages to this piece is that the Magician has complete control of the pace of the routine. If you do get a chance to have a look, please let me know what you think. Thanks so much! |

I don't think he is really scary (but he might be to some), but he certainly is attractive and looks well-made. I like him, too! Very nice!

Scary, perhaps, for a pre-school crowd. Or, maybe with controlled lighting, also for a somewhat older kid crowd. But I think most adults will find him quaint, at best.
Eye movement is pretty good. Card ejections were a total surprise. But I'm afraid a card emerging from the top of his head looks a little silly. I'd stick to just having the mouth eject a card. Definitely a solid looking, quality made piece, though. Much potential!!! |

That is a beautiful piece of work!
I have always wanted to see that effect working... and you have done a superb job!

Card devil...wonderful. Excellent work.
I'm working on something similar: an aged, 'Mr. Punch' jack-in-the-box with the Jack (Punch) figure holding the selected card.

Cool! Now if you can get a whole bunch of cards to come shooting out his mouth like vomit and stop at the last chosen card, that would be great. Even better if you pull the final card from his mouth and he sprays you with green glop. I'm not sure the card from the top of his head is relevant. I'd tend to make flames shoot up there, but then I'm a pyromaniac.

Veegates,
Great work. I always wanted one of those. I am glad you kept the card productions historically accurate. Do you make and sell? Or do commissions?
It wasn't the brightest thing I've ever done in my life. Sadly though, it was far from the dumbest.

That is amazing! You make that whole thing from scratch? You are a God!

Wow,
Thanks to all for the input. A while back I built a version of Antonio Diavolo and The Dancing Harlequin(Skeleton). They seemed grander (and more complicated), but I believe the response for my Demon was every bit as positive and well received. I truly appreciate the feedback. Steve, I hope you will post Mr Punch on the forum when he is completed! Thanks again!! |

I really love your stuff and therefore have to repeat BostonBlackie's question: do you also sell your stuff and/or do commissions?
To infinity, and beyond!

Hi,
A company by the name of Zanadu magic is handling My Satyr and my Snake in the Basket. I am hoping to build more pieces for them. I only want to build a few of any one item. It's always so much more fun building the first one.... A few people asked about commission work. I am always open to that. I know there are rules about not advertising on the Forum, but I have a website that I hope any one with an interest in having a piece custom built would visit or send me a PM. My website is http://www.clockworkuniverse.net Again, thanks to all who posted comments on My Demon |
