I know it's tempting for rationalists and "debunkers" to go WAY round the bend trying to explain Biblical miracles, but that's trying to answer the wrong question. I don't care if (for example) the Hebrews were trying to cross the Red Sea or the Reed Sea mudflats, or if there were unusually strong winds that season, or any other tortured effort to "explain" ... the right question is, "what is this story trying to teach'?

Similarly, if you want to "explain away" Jesus's the miracles attributed to Jesus, it's no harder than the dozens of audience-guesses at how Copperfield flies, or the "I know how you did that"s at how you do any effect ... the guesses are easy to come up with, always wrong, and they miss the point entirely (which is: what are you supposed to get from watching this?)
