I never stop marveling at these wonderful cups. Bill, any more light you can shed on them?

WOW! That is amazing. It looks like pewter. Really beautiful cups. I can't wait to hear the story behind these.

I don't know who made them. They really moved me when I saw them.

The cups were being set up in a dealer booth at the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas by James Dimmare, who was selling all of Ed Keener's props. Being on the staff, I was "in early" and when I saw them told Dimmare, to NOT SELL THEM TO ANYONE UNTIL BILL PALMER has a chance.

Looks like they came from the Vatican.
Nice.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Uncle Pete, you dirty bird! If these were at the seminar someone should have brought them to the cups and balls discussion. They're beautiful and I bet no one there had seen them before.

Peppy... they were on display in Dimarre's booth for a couple of days. Also there were a few other amazing sets of Keener's there too. (I think Bill got them all).

The shape looks a little bit like the Vernon silver cups. Bill, what are they made from?

They are aluminum, unless you live in the UK, in which case, they are aluminium.

Bill… Can you please tell us the process that is used to engrave Cups?
Thanks, Bruce |

PMFJI, but you take them to an expert at engraving. Many of these top folks do knives and guns and various types of specialty pieces.
Some by hand, some by CNC machines. One of the best, that I knew slightly, was the late Joe Condon. He did cups for Johnny Thompson. I believe he did the Lion Head award masters for Siegfried and Roy.
