Charlier cut.

Maybe not that amazing - but it was the first flourish I learnt.

Also ribbon spread with turnover, riffle shuffle with waterfall and springing the cards from one hand to the other are good ones to start off with.

Get yourself a DVD or 2 - check out the other thread for recommendations.

Go to Jerry Cestkowski's site and buy his book...it's worth it's weight in gold. Lots of, easy to do, basic flourishes. But also many much harder flourishes...

A simple thumb fan or spinning a card on your finger are two that you can build into just about any card trick. Also, with lots of practice, shooting cards into the air from the deck can be pretty impressive.
