My effect, the "Bammo Monte Monster" was designed for exactly this situation: no table and you're surrounded (sounds like General Custer's conditions doesn't it?). If you get the "Bammo Monster Reloaded", you'll also get a complete history of all of the versions (including the one made famous by Mike Skinner), as well as an improved version of the Skinner effect. Actually, Mike Skinner's effect is 95% Taytelbaum's trick from Ultimate Secrets of Card Magic.

Just spend some time playing with it. It can be done standing. I tend to perform it standing more than with a table

OK, I can now refine my requirements, having investigated most of the ones mentioned, I fear none quite measures up.
1. It should look like Three Card Monte, or the average spectator's idea of what 3CM is. So - no blank cards, no jumbo cards, and so on: three cards only (or seemingly thus) 2. No Jacket Required. Apart from paid gigs, I dislike having to wear something particular. 3. No long sequences to memorise, mainly because I'm forgetful and I'd end up exposing the gaffes. "Bammo Monte Monster" was looking good, till I discovered that it was probably a longer and more involved routine than I am looking for. And the Kitson Miracle...well, I've started another thread on that. Thanks for your help so far! |

Re; ""The Only Three Card Trick with Four Cards," an effect by Joe Riding. I have no idea what the gaffs for that trick were like."
There were no gaffs. It used jumbo cards but was good for stand up or close up. No table required if wearing a jacket, the odd card is placed behind your lapel. It was more or less reinvented by Richard Volmer as "Poor Man's Monte" with ordinary sized cards and the addition of Trevor Lewis's monte move. That version can be found on Aldo Colombini's "A Few Good Cards" packet trick DVD. Paul. |

One of the issues that I had with Chase the Ace and Skinners Monte was that the Ace always changed places with the 3. I now use two 3's and an Ace when I do Skinner's. I would love a Jumbo version though, I came up with a great presentation (IMHO) and would love to do it stand-up.
