Just curious if anyone uses the Trade Show Shells on the street and what they use as their final reveal....

I use jumbo shells in my routine. For a final load, I now use a can of peas. It's my "bill to impossible location" location.
In the past I've also used a small stuffed animal, a red coin purse, a hinged gold plated 3" fortune cookie, a jumbo coin, and a magic 8-ball. I'll post video of my entire shell game routine once I can arrange to have someone hold the camera while I'm working. |

Thanks Ray. I'll take you up on it.
I'd like to get the duct tape finale filmed as well. I think it plays well, but would like some feedback on it. It's an alternate final phase to the shell game I've been working on where I blindfold myself in duct tape and let the volunteer move 3 jumbo shells around with the can of peas under one. I then use my mental powers to choose the correct shell and then do the bill in can of peas. I'd like to see the crowd reactions while I've got the tape on my head. I don't know if the crowd is growing, shrinking, or stealing all my cr*p at that point! Frank, unless you have a zoom lense that can take the curvature of the Earth's surface into account, I think we're outta luck there buddy |

A fellow street performer had a camera at the pitch yesterday. It made the video into a mini-DVD right there on the spot! Shazaam!
Hope you all enjoy. Any critiques would be appreciated. Go ahead, I can take it. I'm a big boy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IbC6HHgWoo Oh, and I'd like to thank Bill Sutter for his invaluable help with the handling of this "bill in can" bit. The man has an encyclopedic knowledge of our craft! So....THANKS BILL!!! |

"we were friends a minute ago" that is a gret line. looks like you found a solution to the problem you had with the can. Good job man.

It is a good line it only five min long, it has worked for me for years.
I work it down from 8min then 5min, 3min then 30sec. Works great with a fast pace crowd like office workers so on. don't use it at festavels they have a lot more time on their hands. The psychology behind this will hold you good crowds when others sware they cant work during the week. Well done Mario |

Thank you both for the compliments. As I'm sure you're both aware, those are both borrowed bits.
Ray, I either got that line from Cellini's Street Performing DVD produced by Kozmo or from watching Jimmy Talksalot on Youtube...can't remember which it came from. I've learned a lot watching both. Mario, I know that you used a similar count down in your recent Youtube video. You may very well be the originator of that type of countdown, I don't know. I've been "selling" my act to the crowd as a 5-minute show since I started street performing, but the idea of continuing with a countdown (later on in the show & particularly just before the finale) took its current form based on watching your video...so thank you & I hope you don't mind me using it! |
