First there was "Deadliest Catch", then "Tuna Wranglers" and now "Whale Wars"

Three of the BEST shows on TV.

Maybe because I'm a Boatswainmate, but I love adventure on the high seas. Deadliest Catch is about the world's deadliest job, Crab Fishermen on the Bering Sea. The second is about the Tuna Wranglers in Australia...amazing!!!

And now, I just watched Whale Wars. it's about a group, like Green peace, that goes after Whale hunters and trys to shut them down. Full of drama and excitment and just as deadly as Deadliest Catch!

I miss being out at sea and when I watch these shows, I really miss being out there. I would be on deck and working along side these guys because they are Deck Hands! And we all know the only rate in the navy is a Boatswainmate!

Cheers to my brothers on ships and riding the waves! Even though I can't be there with you, you're always in my prayers and close to my heart!

Whale Wars!

I don't know the source of the quote, but while I've never been to sea, I like the spirit;

"Every problem in life can be solved with salt water; tears, sweat or the sea!"
"There's no time to lose," I heard her say.
"Catch your dreams before they slip away."
"Dying all the time, lose your dreams and you could lose your mind.
Ain't life unkind?"

Deatliest catch is cool. Most of the stuff I have seen on whale wars seems cut to fit the "plot" of the show. One episode, the captain was "shot" from the whaling ship, but the bullet hit his badge-like thing.... Pretty cool how the chili peppers support them though. Still a good show

I think it's the producers who cut the show up. But I also think the ships crew and mission are intense. These people can easily die doing something they believe in. Unlike PETA who are only interested in BS causes.

Either way...anybody who works at sea is someone I respect.

Is it about the Sea Shephard people fighting the Japanese Whalers down here?

If so I don't need to watch - it leads our news bulletins most nights during the whaling season.

I am very supportive of what they are doing and admire their bravery.

They are also incredibly media savvy. Each day there is a new stunt and well shot footage of it available to the newsrooms each night in good time for broadcast.

And of course occasionally they add a bit of star power. Like at the beginning of this season when Darryl Hannah put to sea with them. Well she didn't really put to sea - I don't think she even saw a whale, let alone a Whaler. She flew in, filmed interviews beside the docked ship, talked about how she was joining the protest this year and then admitted she was only here for the press and unfortunately had filming committments she had to return to the US for, but would try to make it back. I don't recall her doing so.

Justin, I didn't mean to suggest otherwise. The producers of all reality shows edit them an incredible amount. Its entertainment after all.
