Very clever.
I would like to see more magic effects being created for the iPhone. I secretly wish Tenyo would release its Nintendo DS version of "Master of Illusion" someday... This is right up there with those.

Someone gave me a great idea and maybe it has been mentioned. First take a picture of a black background using your iphone. Next take a picture or if you have a scanned copy of your business card add that to your iphone. Now take your real business card and hide it behind the iphone. Show the business card picture in your iphone. Slide the picture as if you were gong to another picture like you would normally do. Time this so that at the same time you remove the real business card hidden behind the iphone. It appears as though you have actually pulled it from the iphone.

I'm trying to work out an effect where one appears in my pocket without my having had to pay for it. No luck so far, but I'll be sure to pass it on to you when I figure it out. Alternatively, I'll flog the idea to ellusionist and they can sell it to you.

In fact, the effect is best if you just have your participant silently draw their selected shape in the air, instead of naming it. Some tech-savvy people suspect that the effect works on voice recognition (which it doesn't).

I guess I don't understand the point of tech magic. To me if someone showed me something on an iphone id give all the credit to the phone.

But if you use Ron's post above, the magic happens from the phone to the production of a business card in your hands. What a great way to give out a business card. It takes the magic "away" from the phone and into your hands.

Nice little app. Lior, fooled more people than I thought it would. A bit of a throwaway piece but a great thing to have to show kids or when the subject of how amazing modern technology is ("did you know the iPhone is so good it's actually psychic?" is a great line).

I just did a show in Wasington DC area.
I had AOL founder and Wikipidia founder and ICQ founder and many other cool people. They all talked with me after the show and I did the Isensor effect for them. They didn't give any credit to me or to the iphone. That just have fun. (and they downloaded the efeect after 2 min.) Lior

As I posted on another forum, Lior, this is great. And I love the idea of drawing the symbols in the air as a repeat. I just got an Itouch and haven't performed it for anyone yet but am toying with the presentation that I have taught my Itouch to read minds, etc. Will be lots of fun!

After they mental choose the symbol you say you will touch in one you think they chose. Turn face down, they name it and bingo. Change the attention to you not to the mobile.
Lior you could use a snapshot of a piece of paper, resting in a wood table as background, with the symbols written on it (you say I normally do this on paper but I always carry the iphone with me so use the tecnology for something... single photo) Cheers |
