That was really cute.
On a different note, I would say this is a strong argument against flourishing in card magic. WHAT!? how so connor? Well it was so obvious that this kid was to young to have any technical skill that the judges were actually somewhat amazed. If it were an older magician they would write it off as "trick props" but no one expected or suspected a five year old to be able to work trick props. They assumed it was going to be bad so when it was good it was really good. So if you floursih with cards, it shows great skill and everyone will assume it will be good and when something amazing happens everyone is thoroghly amuzed, but not all that amazed. They'll think to themself well that's nice but its not particularly amazing. When you appear to not know what you are doing then something amazing happens its a miracle. |
