I'm tempted to polish them up just a bit. Epiphany says it would not take too much elbow grease to put a luster onto them.

Mickey:
The Mendoza combo cups came with a set of five 1 inch pearl Josh Riehl monkey fist balls, and I hane another set of 1 1/8 inch emerald monkey fist balls on the way. |

I also have a set of the pearl monkey fist balls and they are my absolute favorites. Sooo pretty, and no unwanted scurrying.

I have 4 or 5 sets of Josh's monkey fists and love em! The RnT2 adjustable's are also top notch IMO so I look forward to them reopening for business so I can add more colors to my collection!

I don't see RnTII adjustable balls/regular balls in a 5 ball set on their website.
Would this be a special order? On your advice Mickey, I got Josh's Monkey fist balls for the combo cups and I ordered an Adjustable RnTII chop set for my SBL Chop cup. In both instances, you were RIGHT ON THE MONEY!.....so hey guys...listen to Mickey! Also, I just got a set of Josh's 1 1/8 inch emerald monkey fist balls today in the mail and lo and behold they are perfect with the Mendoza Combo Cups. The color contast/"Pop" and color combination and size/heft of these balls and these cups on my Mikame Table Hopping Table Top with it's black pad is just beautiful! VERY classy! Impressive, I must say. Where were these props when we needed 'em 30 years ago? How did we manage to "magish" without 'em? Now...I have to go ........practice~! |

Hmm...I might like to see a picture of that set up...
I find lighter colored balls (yellow and white especially) with copper cups and a black pad to "pop" the most, but I haven't seen the emerald balls in that setting. Of all the sets of balls I have, I don't have a single green set. The contrast with copper, black, and white seems to really grab the eye. Just my preference, though. |

That does look very nice. Josh does such fine work. I think I'm going to have to pick myself up a set of those lovelies.
Thanks, Bri! |

Welcome. They handle very nicely too, they don't "cling" when doing things like the elevator move. There's a review here if you are thinking of buying some:

I have to say I am another happy owner and recommend the Mendoza Cups also. Bri, I like the video that you included in the review… one gets a better sense of what the Cups are about and to there true size.
Thanks, Bruce |

I neglected to mention that the Mojo (read that as "ease of release") for the 1 1/8th inch Emerald Green Monkey Fist Chop Ball that Josh made is just purrrrrfect.... with the Mendoza combo cups, as well.
These are the nicest balls for c/b I've ever seen in my life. Boy is it ever nice to practice with REALLY NICE PROPS!!! Now if we can just talk Josh into making some Monkey Fist Final Load Balls that match his regular-sized moneky fist balls..................he told me in an E-mail that it's not easy....but hey....this guy works magic! (hint hint) |

Now that is a nice idea... Might have problems with weight though.. seeing as Monkey fists are traditionally used to weight rope to throw...
Perhaps a large lighter core and thicker matching cord? |

Just curious...what wand was that on the video? Kinda looks like the Magnum Magus Wand I made but I can't really tell.
I do have a mendoza set and its one of my faves! Rannie

Rannie,
I'm afraid it isn't one of your wands. I did try to order one of your beautiful 2 piece wands way back but I expect you got busy as I didn't hear back. The wand in the video is Cocobolo and Zebra wood and was made by Eric Hansen: http://www.cupsandballsmagic.com/Eric-Ha......and.html Best, Bri |
