Effect: The deck is shown, and a card selected. With a couple of cuts, the entire deck becomes blank faced, except the chosen card. A moment later, the face of the selected card also becomes blank.
Good points: - This really is quite easy to do, and only requires a minimal amount of sleight of hand. - With the right handling the deck looks completley ungaffed. - The spectator has an absolute free choice of card. - An easier option for a similar effect to Blizzard. Bad Points: - The deck, being gaffed, cannot be examined. - The selected card turning blank is a weaker climax than the rest of the deck becoming all blank. - There is a fairly large visual discrepancy when cutting the cards (which can be overcome with the right misdirection). Overall: This is a nice, relativly painless effect, that should appeal to the masses. 6.5/10 |
