I have been doing magic for almost 2 years and consider myself intermediate. I haven't purchased anything in a while and I think I want (that is, she finally gave me permission) to buy another book. Here is my shortlist
1. Classic Magic of Larry Jennings
2. Complete Works of Dingle
3. David Acer - Natural Selections

I would like some feedback on these and, if you would like to make my shortlist into a longlist, go ahead. Thanks

I'm sort of leaning towards Jennings

Do you have any of Harry Lorayne's Apocalypse Books? They contain a great plethora of information and effects. I recommend them highly!

I have Dingle's book and it`s not a favourite. Too much card work, and it`s very serious stuff.
How did you create your short list ?

THE CLASSIC MAGIC OF LARRY JENNINGS is a very good book with some great magic - Some of the effects could have been written up a little better and there are a couple of mistakes in a couple of the tricks - but nothing that can't be worked out.

THE COMPETE WORKS OF DEREK DINGLE is one of my favorites - it is almost all card magic and some really hard effects/sleights - There is some "knock your eyes out" magic contained in this book.

NATURAL SELECTIONS - Unfortunately, I own this book and have not had time to read it - What I've heard is mostly positive - There are some trick styles that don't translate well from Mr. Acer's techniques to mere mortal technique.

Overall: all three are good choices - If you're limited to one - I'd recommend the Dingle book first and the LJ book right behind it.
