This should be one spectacular event!! I was at the reception party last night. The performers are The Pendragons, David Ben, Amazing Randi, and from England--Paul Daniels. Just to name a few!!!!
The 50 page color program (more like a book) will be a collectors item. |

I heard the show was a DISASTER started at 8:00 pm and ran 'til 1:00 a.m. Pendragon did an illusion where he escaped while being WATERBOARDED.

I wouldn’t call it a disaster. There were many great moments. If you take out James Randi’s performance, Jonathon’s water boarding, and if it actually started at 8pm instead of 8:30pm, the show would have ended a little after 11pm. Except for what I just mentioned, the show was very good and well thought out. Paul Daniels was brilliant! I enjoyed the variety of magic including several close-up effects. I also enjoyed Marc DeSouza and Bob Fitch discussing the history of this show between acts.

Everyone in attendance seemed to really enjoy the show. It did start late because so many people waited for the elevators to take them up to the 7th floor theater. They delayed the start to allow people to take their seats.
The waterboarding escape by Johnathan was a last minute replacement for Scott Interrante who in the morning fell off the back of his truck loading his illusion to bring to the theater. He was immediately hospitalized. I have not yet heard an update on his condition. |

I have been told that Scott is now home recouperating; he may have one or two herniated disks in his back. Let's hope that he recovers soon.

Could you elaborate on James Randi’s performance. Was it a "bomb"?

It could just be me, or this could have been where I started to realize that this was going to be a long show. His slow performance didn't help the flow at that point. I wouldn't call his performance a bomb, it just didn't seem to be as stellar as the rest of the show.

Thanks Ken. That's a shame. Randi could have really wow the crowd and have been a highlight of the evening.
