For those of you who perform this effect... Which version is more effective - Cassidy's or Osterlind's?
I'm planning to learn one or the other, so I thought I'd poll the experts first. Thanks! sdmagic |

Forgive me, but what does Richard call his version of 4DT? I can't recall it.

It is on his DVD:
Easy To Master Mental Miracles - Volume 3. He calls it Fourth Dimensional Telepathy. |

Despite this thread being a couple of years old, I think it is still relevant to whoever comes across it.
Firstly, let me clarify something. The ‘version’ that Osterlind performs and explains on Easy To Master Mental Miracles - Volume 3 isn’t necessarily Osterlind’s ‘version’. The whole point of the ETMMM project is that “Richard Osterlind has combed the vast literature of mentalism to find the strongest mentalism and mental magic effects ever created by past and present masters of the art…” like Corinda, Koran, Hoy, Becker – and in this case – Annemann. Cassidy has taken Anneman’s effect and vastly improved it in so many ways. The main improvement is that there is no f****. The others are for you (whoever is reading this, not just sdmagic) to discover for yourself. Bob Cassidy Mental Miracles DVD A Journey Through the 4th Dimension PDF http://www.lybrary.com/a-journey-through......1eb70cdd The most important thing as far as your spectators are concerned is how interesting / relevant the participants’ “thoughts” are that you request (e.g. a drawing to duplicate, first pet, childhood friend, first record bought / mp3 downloaded, first illegal download … you get the idea) and how you ‘receive’ those thoughts telepathically – I recommend Derren Brown and Banachek’s work on this neglected element in mentalism. “You’re Supposed to be Reading Minds” after all!! |

I recall that John Riggs has a version on the Conversations with Mind Readers tapes in which the Magician doesn't even touch any of the envelopes or billets at anytime. (really) I can't recall every detail of it, but it's a really clean version. I don't want to say much about it on the forum.
