How? By doing nothing.
Doing nothing does more than doing something, duh! Come on, I mean, if we try to stop it, they might actually stop! We don't want that now, do we? [/sarcasm]

It can be stopped by NOT buying from the guy. Look who has bought from him - even John Mendoza! Sad, indeed, but this sort of piracy thrives because magicians are cheap and do not respect any of the originators. Magicians bring such theft upon them selves. When the big players like "flinner" buy from such sellers, what do you expect? We reap what we sow.

Not that it is right but he does say the video is for demonstration purpose only. The prop you see in the photos is the one he is selling and not Losanders. At least he is telling you what you are going to get. Unlike others who sell on ebay. And no I do not think it is right for him to sell the prop. I have an older Losander table.

Las;
LOL? Read the seller's reviews to see who has bought from him. "Flinner" is Mendoza. I never wrote that he bought a table just that he has bought from (financially supported) this seller. This is what keeps these guys in business. Being in denial will not put an end to such piracy. MR

Laszlo is correct about contacting E-bay to complain about this.
E-bay maintains a policy of not allow unauthorized copies of material to be distributed. The policy applies to copyrighted, trademarked, patented, and reserved material. Other companies like Snap selling knock off illsuions can also be stopped if people like Steinmeyer, Losander, Smokey Mountain Magic contact E-bay and protest the distribution of the unauthorized items. Something to think about. JC

Pardon my ignorance, just slightly confused...is this eBay user selling a cheap knockoff from Hong Kong? Is the Losander table something that other companies aren't supposed to make? I saw one at The Magic Apple here in L.A. which was a different design but seemed to be of good quality...it belonged to someone else and the store was selling it for that individual.
Anyway, was just curious as to why this item is a bad one...if it's being pirated from Losander or what? I like to know these things so I don't end up with a bad product, and just as importantly so I don't support anyone who sells bad products or steals ideas. Also, I saw Losander do his table routine at the castle and I was floored. It was spectacular. Thanks! Andrew

Its the same thing however others will say its cheaply made and not the same..
That being said the hang up is Losander is the creator and this guy is making money off his creation and not paying Losander. |

Got it - that makes sense, especially since he's using the video. I'm also of the mindset that just because you put a disclaimer about something, doesn't make it right. For instance this seller mentions that the product you get isn't actually the product in the video - it's just a representation of the effect. To me that's kind of like putting up a picture of a Lexus and saying "this isn't the actual product you're getting, it's just an idea" and then sending the buyer a used Honda.

Merely posting it here, helps the seller. I guarantee you some magician on the Café will see this now and comtemplate its purchase.

How can we stop it?
Answer: don't BE AN IDIOT AND ADVERTISE THIS INDIRECTLY. Like RSD said, you just started a whole thread drawing clicks to an EBAY site. |

Don't call me an Idiot .... !!! I never saw this kind of a think before because I am out making a living and paying the bills by performing magic and I though posting it on here.. we might get an idea on how to get it removed from ebay ...I forgot that most people on this site are not magicians ... Inaction is not action
