Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me out, I'm currently looking for a new esp card routine that I can do in a walk around setting. I usually perform esperfect, Zennertech and a routine off of the unexpected dvd. I guess I'm just looking for something new to add to my arsenal as I have been performing these effects for some time now. I love performing with esp cards and some of my clients often hire me a few times a year and it would be nice to mix things up. Any help would be greatly appreaciated, Thanks in advance, Daren

If you must work without a surface, then these will work (as Matthew suggested):
"Symbalance" is a fantastic 2 person (plus performer) routine Maven's "Shape-up" is also very effective (which could be performed with someone's hand as a surface). "ESP Card Opener", Banachek, Psi Series DVD If you can work with a surface, there are a number of additional options (some have already been listed above): "Jazz Esp", Dave Humphries, Submodalities DVD "Pocket Calculator", Dale Shrimpton/Stanton Carlisle, Submodalities DVD ...though the same routine was published previously, with another title, in Nick Trost's "ESP Session" in 1965 (which seems to be a variant of an Annemann routine) Looch's "Wake Up Dr. Rhine", SAD/DVD Osterlind's "View ESP Prediction", DVD/Dynamic Myteries Book "Telepa-three" by Jeff Pierce, booklet "Bob Carver's ESP routine" Sinister Variations, Charles Pecor refined as "Bob's Your Uncle", Doug Dyment Mindsights Booklet "Perfect ESP", Unexpected DVD. "Zennerism" David Britland "Zenner Tech" Nardi ...all of these could be used to great effect in a table setting. I am sure there are more. I hope that helps. Sean |

I would add Bob's Your Uncle from Doug Dyment's MindSights
and a favorite of mine from Bob C in the FREE newsletter: I forget the name but it's a great ESP routine where the spec matchs the symbols. If you are on his mailing list you may have received it. J |

I may be missing something here, but if you are going to be doing card tricks, why not use a regular deck that your audience will be familiar with?

Hmmm..... good question but I'm not that big into a regular deck of cards, it's not my thing. I prefer the presentation that can go along with a pack of esp cards rather than playing cards. Just my preference.

Card tricks? I guess it's all how you handle and present it. If you do a Dan and Dave styled card flourishes and then ask someone to pick a card, any card, then sure, it comes off as a card trick. But handled differently, I think you can eliminate the idea of "card trick" popping into someones head.

I couldn't agree more with Mr. mindbender. Although, the hot shot cut with esp cards would be interesting.

...Most of these mentioned above can be done with a solid presentation and come across quite well. I think context and tone really matter in this regard. Do this between "twisting the aces" and an "Ambitious Card" routine and well... you just shouldn't.
However, a good ESP Symbol experiment can pack some punch. Combine some real intuition, with a good effect and WOW. I really unnerved a staff person at the Rhine Research Center. My "powers" were more impressive than the resident "psychics". ...I got a free ESP Symbol deck to boot. Sean |

If you have an agile math-brain that works well under fire Leo Boudreau has some great ESP effects you might want to seek out.
My fave ESP effect at the moment is Tri-Mental by Leslie May. Then of course I do "ESP cards from mouth" in the style of Bill Malone (also works nicely with Tarot when combined with the Linda Blair Head Spin). s

I feel sick even mentioning it - but magic makers managed to put together a half decent dvd with their esp deck last year...there's some nice old school effects in there - some from the jinx etc...and even uses the behind the back force for one effect, which was nice to see...
if you're in the UK - shop around, you can get the deck and dvd for £18, rather than the often touted 30...
