but I would recommend giving your support to brother conjurer and fellow Café member card-shark (using the link provided earlier in the thread: http://www.card-shark.de/index_e.cfm?MC ) I don't think I've ever performed the Chicago Opener but I did perform a very similar effect at one point where the selected, odd-backed card changes to match the deck at the end. This isn't the place to describe the mechanics, but if you're interested, PM me and I'll send you the details. |

I'm thinking this is best used as a method to distribute business cards to prospects (your card being the back odd backed card). Since you end with the dupe in the deck, you need to let time pass before using cards again. It is a stand alone trick.
If someone could explain Chicago Closer, I would be appreciative (effect, not method). I don't have the referenced book.
So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark — that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.
