Yes, I ordered Sanders Slow Burn about 6 months ago (maybe a bit longer) assembled the gaff, performed it, enjoyed performing it, spectators seem to have enjoyed it and now I see an update. Just a very, very, simple question. Is Extreme Burn much better than Slow Burn (do I need to spend another $30.00 or so dollars) and what do I do when he comes out with "Better Than Extreme Burn" in another few months, do I then have to purchase another "new" upgrade. Yes, I appreciate better handlings, better gaffs, but perhaps there should be some sort of upgrade credit. Thoughts?

I've seen them all, man... and in the end I just cobbled together what works best for me. FYI: My first change is Heiny 500, last change is Tom Isaacson's Prophet.
Here's the deal: If you just want a working method that will wow them... then what you already have is enough. If you want to find the BEST method FOR YOU... then you have to buy them all, try them all, and mix and match. But when you think about it... a couple hundred dollars for a method that REALLY works is a bargain for the working pro. I have a friend who spent over $12,000 developing a trick that NEVER came to fruition! Compared to the illusion guys... we have it cheap! |

Hey Joe, boy, your face looks familiar....and yes, you're right, a few hundred for something that really really works (for me even) is a bargain....I"ve spent that much with stuff just sitting in the sock drawer, and understand the strength of a good bill change.

Should I take that as a compliment...?

A compliment? Of course it was a compliment. And you gave pretty darn good advice as well.

If 'Slow Burn' works for you, I don't see a reason to upgrade. I personally prefer the 'Slow Burn' effect. It works better with my presentation. I only use $1 bills and $20 bills.

Slow burn effect looks more magical to me.. It appears that the bills are turning SLOWLY.. which the new one is lacking the moment of.
Just my thoughts. |

If you want a method that works every time without worries I suggest Extreme Burn. I use 1's to 100's. I haven't played with Slow Burn but I did try to do Heiney 500 for my magic club and missed the pinky break, so I messed it up. I had performed it many times, but of course it was when I did it for magicians that I messed it up. I have never had a mishap with Extreme Burn. I do the gravity revelation which works every time. Reaction from spectators is what it's all about, and this one gets it.
