Hi, I'm looking into the classic Vernon routine,
I was wondering what variations were good, preferably from a shuffled deck in use, and minimum fishing.
I'm familiar with Paul Wilson's variation, can people point me in the direction of any others?
Many thanks for your help.

Cheers.

As a suggestion, dylan magic:

Michael Ammar has the Vernon routine on one of his E.T.M.C.M. dvd's.

Warmest regards,:D)

If you are serious, spend some time searching Genii. Geoff Latta posted his handling for the routine some years back. I'm pretty sure it was before the great purge of users accounts so you'll have to read the entire thread and look for Geoff's name inside the post.

As I recall, it was worth the search.

Most of the "handlings" are variations on the shuffle. You end up in the same position regardless. The Wilson shuffle is great. I use Johnny Thompson's shuffle off of his video series - straight-forward and easy to remember. JT's does provide a cover card on the face so that you're not staring at one of the possible thought-of cards as soon as you turn over the deck. This is such a great trick . . .

I know it's not a variation but I feel that Paul Harris's Reflex Test is a stronger version of this "look at a card and I'll find it" plot.

Hi Everyone,

I have always felt that once the spectator has thought of a card and you have shuffled the deck, why turn the deck face up and get them to look out for their card?
I know this can be covered with presentation, but in my honest opinion it is not needed. Yes I do have a method and I may publish this on here in the next few days.

Best

John

Hi John:

I, for one, am looking forward to your handling.Smile
(It will probably beat out my variation that I just threaded, in response to Alel's
post, in Inner Thoughts)

Warmest regards,

Sixten

Bruce Cervon has a method as well, which turns it into a whole new trick. Its in the issue with him on the cover.

I'll look up Giobbi's method. I'm sure I read it, and it's a good excuse to return to those books anyway. John C - very interested to see what you've come up with.

My version uses a special deck, no looking through the deck or asking any questions etc, and is self-working, but no way impromptu.

R. Paul Wilson has an excellent handling in one of the Genii's.

All the best,

Gary Jones.

Thanks so much guys.
I'll check the Genii issue if I can obtain one. I'm familiar with Paul Wilson variation. I also have seen the Jerry Sadowitz method in his book "Cards On The Table". I didn't realise most were variations on the shuffle, that's handy to know.
Thanks guys
I'd be interested in Mr. Carey's handling also. Smile
Thanks.

P.s. The Genii magazine is now out of print, if anyone else was interested...
