Congratulations to the both of you!
With your two shows in San Francisco, Monday Night Magic and Steve Cohen in New York, and my show plus the Magic Cabaret and Magic Chicago in Chicago, major U.S. cities may be becoming more magic-friendly than ever! (Vegas, Atlantic City, and Branson are a separate discussion.) Break legs, Neil

Very nice!
I saw Christian's "Now and at the Hour" in NYC and thought it was very good indeed. Would love to catch it again and see how it has grown since then. Break legs, man! Rory

I just love that three major cities can feature more traditional shows, and now three major cities can boast more untraditional shows! Magically, Walt |

Hey Greater Bay Area Bizarrists! (We have a lot around here.)
If you have Comcast check out the local magazine show Inside City Limits. For the next couple of weeks you'll find a 3 minute segment on "Now and at the Hour". Also, check out the Datebook Pink Section of this Sunday's Chronicle, there should be a picture and write up of the show too! (Okay it may actually be in next weeks, I'm not sure. And, it's a photo of Pandora and not this show but I'm small time and I'll take whatever the hell I can get.) And, of course, don't forget Walt's show is playing just a few blocks away at Union Square. What a great way to make a weekend out of seeing magic and theatre. Stay at the Chanceloir Hotel and see Walt's show Friday night. Then walk down a few blocks to Taylor and Eddy to see Now and at the Hour on Saturday night! Stick around after the show and we'll get a drink or a milkshake around the corner! C

These are not just magic shows, these are bizarre! I think audiences would much rather see a meaningful bizarre performance than a "traditional" magic show. I know I would.

Wow! San Francisco Chronicle’s “96 Hours”
ran a full page for “Eccentrics”! On page F - 16 of the San Francisco Chronicle http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=......E26Q.DTL 'Eccentrics of San Francisco's Barbary Coast' Source: sfgate.com Magician David Miller says that he usually prefers to "find the magic, find the piece," discovering a new piece of magic and then figuring out how to work it into a show. Hey gang!
So we got another review in the SF Weekly. It's short but good. http://www.sfweekly.com/2009-07-08/cultu......he-hour/ And the SF Bay Guardian made us one of THE Weekly Picks. Here's the write up (I should be clear this is not a review but it's a GREAT write up!) STAGE Now and at the Hour Christian Cagigal is on a mission to retrain your brain. After seeing Cagigal's show, the words "adult magician" will no longer trigger the image of a bare-chested Criss Angel looking moody and windswept in the Las Vegas desert (put away the guyliner, Angel — nobody wants it!). In Now and at the Hour, Cagigal combines illusion with theatre as he shares how the relationship with his sometimes-troubled father leads to a life-long quest to create magic. As the story gets more complex, so do Cagigal's illusions — and before you know it, he's looking through an old Stereo-Scope and reading your mind. Prepare to be spooked. (Victoria Nguyen) 8 p.m. (continues Fri–Sat through Aug, 15), $15–$25 EXIT Stage Left 156 Eddy, SF (415) 673-3847 http://www.theexit.org

Great press C!
And how many performers would envy you, causing the reporter to write: “leave me feeling unsettled and slightly violated” …like they tend to leave so many after their work hits print? Walt |
