I had insomnia last night and came up with this idea. I don't know if it is out there already so my first request would be to please notify me if this idea already exists.
It is a web based card illusion, but unlike many of the web based magic tricks it is not "self working." It requires a performer to present it. The bare bones effect is this. You browse to Yahoo.com or Google.com. The spectator chooses a card from a deck or just names a card. No force is required and the spectator has complete control of their choice. Then you type the user's first name into the search box and hit the submit button. Then type their second name into the search box and submit. Tell the user to look carefully at the search results. In a few seconds their chosen card fades into view for a few seconds then fades away. Everything is clean at the conclusion and they can use google or yahoo as they normally would. No special software required, just a common web browser. The concept could be expanded to include any number of revelations, predictions etc. In addition to any public discussion of this idea I would also like to communicate privately with a few of you to demonstrate the workings and get your feedback to improve the illusion. This is my first post on The Magic Café and I look forward to spending some quality time here. Best wishes.. |
