In French, there was "le Tarot Cardinal" published in 1973 (only the Major Arcana). You can easily find one on ebay today (I check, there's one for sale).

The Hason-Roberts deck is smaller than most decks:

Actually, there are pocket sized Universal Waite and Rider Waite decks that I use during my lectures and while traveling. The Universal Waite that I generally use is approximately 2.25 x 3.5 inches. Perfect for putting in a hard-drive/external drive case and being on the go. Because there are 78 (rather than 52) cards, they are about .5 inch thicker when placed in a stack. The stock is not quite the same quality as Aviator or Bicycle stock. It's more pliable and holds a bend. As such, it is less forgiving if intensive sleights are going to be used.

If it will help, I wanted the same thing; namely, an oracle deck that was exactly the same size and quality as a Poker deck. As such, my "Deck of Shadows" was born and will be ready in about 3 weeks. It will be 54 cards, high quality card stock, and will allow anyone to give a reading without learning a complicated system or translate symbols. It also contains all 52 card references (and two Jokers).

If interested, the Universal Waite pocket deck can be found at:

http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Waite-Po......3&sr=8-1

If you are interested in the pocket size Rider Waite deck, you might check the following links:

http://www.amazon.com/Pocket-Rider-Waite......1&sr=8-1

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Pocket-......9/?itm=1

Please note that the pocket sized cards are different than the "miniature" deck that is also available. I find the miniature decks nothing more than a novelty.

Just some thoughts. Enjoy. - Scott

If you have found a Thoth deck that is poker size then that in itself is good. There are few tarot decks more beautiful and it is one of my favourite. However you will need to be fairly experienced as a reader to effectively use this Golden Dawn deck as the minor arcana do not show 'pictures' Rider Waite style. The actual meanings of the cards for the two traditions do however overlap to some degree.

I have just purchased the 'Visconti' (Sforza) deck (the one restored with the gold leaf) This looks to be a smallish deck but unfortunately would not be poker size.I personally would not want a tarot deck to be poker size myself since the detail in the cards would be lost and tarot cards were originally meant to be larger as they were created for noblemen in Italy as much for the art as for card playing.

Good luck in your search.
