Any soccer fans on the forum? This is a special game for me as I was born in Honduras, but I'm an American citizen (birth abroad).
Cheers,

Fortunately, USA was able to equalize. I've played much of my life. I'm 46, and still play in a league. We have refs, linesmen, and move up and down in our divisions depending on how well we do (relegation and promotion). My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

I like LaCrosse myself but also soccer.
I'm proud to say when I was a little kid in Georgia my dad got mad because of the way the new soccer teams were set up and he became our coach having never seen a soccer game in his life and had to learn it from the rule book. His reasoning? No one would take the black kids and my dad, who was kind of a civil rights guy in his own Brooklyn way, had me and the neighbor kid and every black kid and handicapped kid who wanted to play! We won one game, sorta, when the other team refused to play against our team cuz of who was on it. I had more fun playing that year than any other year. |

The US suddenly looks very strong in soccer. They may have announced their arrival in the upper echelons of international soccer with their performance in the Confederations Cup where they whipped African champion Egypt 3-0 and shocked European champion Spain 2-0.
Next year we'll see if this is a big move forward or just an amazing run. John

We shall destroy the world of soccer! Man, when I was in South America we had a soccer team for the ship, which sucked of course, and we would play (we by the ship, I wasn't on the team) national teams! Columbia was up 23 to zip when they were told to not score no matter what and they still scored a few more times. Then we would play 'em in softball and kick their arses!
